Uzbekistan isn’t really known as a hotbed of bluegrass, but that’s what makes Bob Perilla’s band, Big Hillbilly Bluegrass, so remarkable. The acoustic outfit—which has performed on three continents, often at the behest of State Department—is playing the Kennedy Center’s free Millennium Stage at 6.

Saturday, November 27
Why should humans be the only ones to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast this week? After all, humans didn’t predict the exact outcome of the World Cup while hanging out underwater. Head to the National Zoo this afternoon for an octopus feeding. 3 PM.

Sunday, November 28
If you’re not in the mood for a lazy Sunday, maybe a mad dash around the Smithsonian American Art Museum will do the trick. Every day, the Luce Foundation Center information desk hands out guides that take you on a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. 11:30 to 7.
