Where & When: What to Do Tonight

What happens when New Orleans meets Dublin and the circus meets the Wild West

Head over to Clarendon for a joint Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day parade. The event promises floats, live music, beads, and animals in costume. 8 PM; free. Starts at the intersection of Wilson Boulevarad and North Barton Street and moves toward Highland Street.

Celebrate Mardi Gras at Artisphere with the Junkyard Saints. The band blends swing, funk, Latin, and zydeco, plus there’ll be a free dance lesson before the party starts. 7:30 to 11. Get tickets ($15) at Artisphere’s Web site.

Cirque Mechanics’s current show, “Boom Town,” uses mining equipment from the 1800s as inspiration. The group’s various acrobatic tricks and physical comedy are set in the Old West for a different twist on a circus. At the Music Center at Strathmore; 8 PM. Buy tickets ($25) at Strathmore’s site.
