Monday, June 13
SCIENCE:
Remember how cute it used to be when your significant other sang in the shower, but now it’s just . . . annoying? There may be a biological explanation behind why it bothers you. NPR science corespondent Joe Palca will explore the evolutionary reasons behind the all-too-familiar feeling of annoyance in tonight’s DC Science Café series, “Annoying: The Science of What Bugs Us.” At the Busboys and Poets’ Mount Vernon Triangle location. 6 PM; Free.

Tuesday, June 14
BEER:
Raise a cold one to DC’s furry friends at tonight’s Brew at the Zoo. Taste beers from more than 40 breweries, including Yuengling, Flying Dog, and Old Dominion. Proceeds support animal care and conservation at the National Zoo. But please, don’t share with the animals. Tickets ($50 to $100) available from the National Zoo’s Web site. 6 to 9 PM.

MUSIC: If you missed Beirut's sold out concert at the Black Cat, you can still catch them at Vitamin Water's Uncapped Live after party where they'll be guest DJing. 10 PM; Free.

Wednesday, June 15
FILM:
This week’s movie at NoMa Summer Screen is the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire. Grab some friends, a blanket, and some popcorn, and head on down to L and 2nd Sts., NE. Food and music start at 7 PM; screening begins at 9. Free.

Thursday, June 16
BOOK SIGNING:
Everyone’s favorite desperate housewife, Eva Longoria, is signing copies of her new cookbook, Eva’s Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family and Friends, at the Williams-Sonoma on Wisconsin Avenue. Recipes include Argentinian empanadas, chile con carne, and apple-spice layer cake. 12:30 PM; Free.
