August 20th is the first ever Help the Heroes concert at the 9:30 Club. Benefiting the City of Fairfax’s fire department charity for muscular dystrophy, the show will feature performances by local bands the Speaks, Atrium, and Foreverisforever. Finally, tickets are now on sale for the Sydney Theatre Company’s production of Uncle Vanya. The Chekhovian tragicomedy stars Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett, and runs from August 4 to August 27 at the Kennedy Center. Tickets ($59 to $120) can be purchased through the Ken Cen’s website.
