Monday, April 9

ANIMALS: Consider yourself lucky if you have Easter Monday off–every year, the
National Zoo celebrates the day with live entertainment, egg hunts, and plenty of animal demonstrations. The Easter Panda even makes an
appearance. Free. 11 AM.

Tuesday, April 10

FOOD SCIENCE: Ever wonder how Bryan Voltaggio and José Andrés make cheese into foam or freeze flavors? Learn at Georgetown University with
a public lecture from
David Weitz, professor of applied physics at Harvard. He’ll discuss the physics of cooking starting at 4:30 PM. Free.

PORK: If that’s too early for you, head to Cork, where chef
Rob Weland will cook a suckling pig and discuss the different cuts of meat at a family-style dinner. Tickets ($50, $75 with wine pairing)

Wednesday, April 11

POLITICS: The election came kind of quietly, but
Marion Barry‘s bender afterward seems to have riled people up just in time for presidential election season. Wednesday,
Rock the Vote will meet at the Bloomberg Government building to discuss how youth voting has changed over the years and how the organization
grew to be such a political force. Register for $45 online or $55 the day of. 6:30 PM.

Thursday, April 12

BAR TRIVIA: You might have a favorite bar, but do you know the story behind it? Learn the history of some of DC’s most famous bars at
the Warehouse Theater with the
Museum of the American Cocktail. Mixologists from the Passenger will get you sufficiently liquored up during the event. Preregister online for $45; it’s
$50 at the door. 6 PM.
