WINE: Celebrate the end of your three-day weekend (your ever-continuing one if you’re furloughed) or just making it through another Monday with the Coupe‘s Columbus Day dinner: It’s serving a sampling of new dishes off its fall menu, plus a wine tasting and two full glasses of keg wine on tap. $20. 6 PM.

Tuesday, October 15

COMEDY: If you missed out on the Bentzen Ball or just aren’t comedyed out yet, get to 9:30 Club for Independent Film Channel’s Comedy Bang! Bang! Live! The weekly podcast brings itself to the stage with host Scott Aukerman, a veteran of Mr. Show and Upright Citizens’ Brigade, with special guest Paul F. Tompkins, who makes regular appearances on the podcast and TV appearances on Real Time With Bill Maher and Best Week Ever. Tickets ($25) are available online. 10 PM.

Wednesday, October 16

DRINKS: LivingSocial‘s future may be a bit murky, but that’s all the more reason to check out the Tech Cocktail Session at 1776. Tim O’Shaughnessy, founder and CEO of the company, will talk about his experiences in the industry and answer questions. Tickets ($15) are available online. 6:30 PM.

NIGHTMARES: Is your recurring dream a bit more interesting than having all your teeth fall out? Take it to Story League‘s Nightmares contest at Busboys & Poets to share your terror with a bunch of strangers. Your retelling of the story can be creepy, funny, or frustrating, but make sure you bring your A-game: The winner gets $100 cash. If your daily dreamland consists entirely of daffodils, daisies, and rainbows, then you can just show up to laugh at other people’s pain, if you’re into that kind of thing. Tickets ($10) are available online. 9 PM.

Thursday, October 17

BOO-LESQUE: It’s not quite Halloween yet, but the State Theatre cares not about things like calendars. It is hosting Boo-B-Tastic, a marginally cleverly named burlesque and sideshow night. Watch dancers such as Mourna Handful and Candy Del Rio try to marry scary with sexy. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. 7 PM.
