BEER: ’Tis the season for pumpkin beers to take a hike and make way for more wintry blends. Each of ChurchKey’s 50 taps will be dedicated to holiday brews tonight, including rare (at least around here) selections from England, Switzerland, France, and Denmark. Bring some canned goods to donate for 10 percent off your tab at the end of the night. 4 to 9 PM.

DRINKS: Some of DC’s best mixologists will show you how to spice up your Christmas party with the Passenger’s annual holiday cocktail seminar. Besides learning how to mix up your own creations, you’ll also get to sample drinks made by eight local craft bartenders. Tickets ($45) are available online. 6:30 PM.
Wednesday, December 12
COMEDY: Awkward family gatherings, jolly fat men, and hilariously overworked laborers (elves, okay?) make the perfect comedic target: Flashpoint’s “It’s Still a Hot & Sweaty Holiday” show combines improv, standup, and sketch comedy to make you go ha ha ha. Proceeds benefit Bread for the City. Can’t think of a better way to spend the last 12/12/12 we’ll see in our lifetimes. Tickets ($15) are available online. 7:30 and 9:30 PM.
Thursday, December 13
SWEATERS: In the past couple of years, hipsters have turned ugly sweaters into something borderline cool, but luckily the ’90s happened: I don’t see a tacky sweater shortage happening anytime soon. Hit up the thrift store or pull something out of your closet for Mellow Mushroom’s ugly sweater party, and you’ll get $2 draft beers all night. 6 PM.
