THEATER: Folger Shakespeare Theatre presents their last production of the season, Edmond Rostandt’s Cyrano. The rom-com is about a suitor, the object of his affection, and his extra large nose. Through June 5; get tickets ($30 to $60) at Folger’s site. Tonight’s performance is pay-what-you-can.

OPERA: The Wolf Trap Opera Company presents their second opera commission, The Inspector. It’s based on Nikolai Gogol’s satire The Government Inspector, about a corrupt Russian politician, and was composed by John Musto, with libretto by Mark Campbell. Through May 1; get tickets ($32 to $72) at Wolf Trap’s Web site.
Thursday, April 28
SYMPHONY: The National Symphony Orchestra featuring conductor Kurt Masur and violinist Sarah Chang are playing at the Kennedy Center. Pieces in the evening’s program include Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and Mendelssohn’s Overture to Ruy Blas. Through April 30; purchase tickets ($20 to $85 ) at the Ken Cen’s Web site.
