Monday: HamFest
A discussion with actors Derek Jacobi and Richard Clifford and filmmaker Mark Olshaker about his documentary, Discovering Hamlet, which closes Folger Theatre’s HamFest—a series of talks presented in conjuction with the theater’s production of Hamlet. Olshaker’s film follows Jacobi’s staging of the famous Shakespearean play with Kenneth Branagh in the titular role and Clifford as Horatio. The discussion starts at 7:30. Tickets ($30) can be purchased by calling 202-544-7077.

Tuesday: Paella Galore!
Through June 20, all three locations (Penn Quarter, Bethesda, Crystal City) of José Andrés’s tapas bar, Jaleo, are offering a special menu featuring many takes on the classic Spanish dish, designed by visiting chef María José San Román. The menu is available all day, starting at 11:30. Bonus: Stop by Monday through Friday between 4:30 and 7 for the restaurant’s $4 sangria, wine, and beer happy-hour specials.

Wednesday: The Future is Now
Reminisce about Jake Gyllenhaal’s pre-beefcake days by catching the screening of the cult-classic Donnie Darko at the NoMa Summer Screen series. This year’s theme is The Future is Now, and other films on the roster include E.T., Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Logan’s Run. Screenings take place at 9 every Wednesday on L Street between Second and Third streets, Northeast. Food and entertainment are provided prior to the show. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket. For more outdoor film series in the area, check out our definitive guide.

Thursday: Gay Ol’ Time
This month’s Homo Hotel Happy Hour, usually held the third Thursday of the month at a different hotel, arrives a week early in celebration of Capital Pride. The host hotel for the event, which raises funds for various LGBT organizations, is the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel in DC’s Chinatown. The happy hour starts at 6. For more information about Homo Hotel Happy Hour, check out the event’s Web site.
