Experimental theater, local rockers, and a flying nanny round out tonight’s arts offerings

Catch a preview of more than 20 upcoming Capital Fringe Festival productions at the Baldacchino Gypsy Tent Bar (607 New York Ave., NW). The festival celebrates five years tonight with complimentary cake from CakeLove. Free; 8 PM to 1:30 AM.

Local boy Pat McGee comes to Wolf Trap tonight with his band and special guest Honor By August. Originally formed in Richmond, the Pat McGee Band performs at least 250 concerts a year at venues across the country. We hope the group won’t be too tuckered out to perform its hit singles “Runaway” and “Rebecca.” Tickets ($32 to $75 for in-house and $25 for lawn) are available here. 8. PM

Practically perfect in every way: Mary Poppins premieres tonight at the Kennedy Center Opera House. Presented by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, the musical about a magical governess begins a two-month run that goes until August 22. Tickets ($73 to $105) are available here. 7:30.
