Good morning, doughnut lovers. We are gliding into the last quarter of round one with just a few bouts lefts to determine our Sweet 16 contenders. On Monday, Seasonal Pantry advanced to round two after easily beating out the bacon-topped fritters at Home Farm Store in Middleburg. Now it’s time to choose who will go up against the Shaw market.

Arlington pizzeria Slice N Dice stocks glazed and chocolate-frosted rounds from Montgomery Donuts, a Washington icon. This fried-dough institution is up against the brunchtime favorites at Cashion’s Eat Place. Pastry chef Lauren Bonfiglio bases those sugar-crusted confections on an old Italian recipe. You decide the winner, but remember to vote before 5 PM, when the poll closes.
