Chew on This: Where’s the Best Mexican Food in the Area?

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! To celebrate the Mexican holiday, we’ve got you covered on drinks: where to find the best margaritas plus Dos Equis specials and free tequila. But we need your help to find the best Mexican food in this town, and we like it spicy! Both the regional small plates at José Andrés’s Oyamel and the Cali-Mex tacos at Surfside earned spots on our most recent 100 Very Best Restaurants list. An NBC reporter recently inspired controversy when she declared that DC’s populist favorite Lauriol Plaza is the place to go for Mexican food that’s “superb” (or was that the pitcher of margaritas talking?).
