DC police sent out an alert Tuesday morning that an armed robbery had occurred at the Bruegger’s Bagels at 2101 L Street, Northwest. According to the alert—which was sent out at 7:19 AM Tuesday and identified the shop as “Brugas bagels”—a masked black male wearing all black was responsible for the crime. The alert warns anyone who encounters someone matching that description to call 911.

An employee reached by phone Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM said the shop had reopened “a few minutes ago” and would keep normal hours on Tuesday. The event comes less than three months after an attempted robbery a few blocks up L Street at Pret a Manger. We’ll update with more details as we have them.
