Opening night has finally arrived: Jawad Saadaoui and Drew Trautmann’s 75-seat restaurant is serving dinner this evening starting at 5 PM. We have a sneak peek of the opening menu after the jump, though the lineup of seasonal items is printed in-house on a daily basis to allow for changes (so don’t get heartsick if the gin, grapefruit, and pink peppercorn cocktail or the cider-braised pork shank gets switched out one day).

Check out our early look of the space, which includes plenty of photos to get you geared up for din.

District Kitchen. 2606 Connecticut Ave., NW; 202-238-9408. Open Monday to Thursday 5 to 10 PM, Saturday 5 to 11, and Sunday 5 to 10. Appetizers $4 to $10; salads and produce $7 to $12; mains $13 to $24.
