Holiday Goodies: S’mores, Please?

No time to bake? Give the gift of s’mores, assembled from superb local sources. Photograph by Chris Leaman.

Nowhere in the Girl Scout Handbook does it say s’mores are a summertime-only treat. With the help of some of our favorite local pastry chefs and candy makers, you can give the gift of nostalgia by picking up a few packages of Pollystyle’s crisp honey graham crackers ($6 to $7 at vendors listed on pollystyle.com), ACKC’s Just Milk or Just Dark chocolate bars ($6.50), and decadent vanilla marshmallows ($3.95 for about a dozen) made by Buzz pastry chef Josh Short. Campfire not included (although adding a culinary blowtorch to toast the marshmallows would be a nice touch).

This appears in the December, 2009 issue of The Washingtonian.
