Bastille Day is officially upon us! Celebrate la fête nationale the culinary way with a roundup of French-themed foodie events:
You’ll find live accordion music, grilled French specialties, and crepe and ice-cream stations at Café du Parc during both lunch (noon to 2) and dinner (6 to 9).

A three-course Celebrate the Revolutions prix fixe dinner ($35 per person) is on offer at Bastille. Napoleon Bistro puts a youthful spin on the holiday with a slew of specials. Phil Greene from the Museum of the American Cocktail hosts a night dedicated to the favorite cocktails of Ernest Hemingway and his iconic characters. You’ll learn how to make such drinks as Death in the Afternoon (a mix of Champagne and absinthe) and listen to excerpts, anecdotes, and more about the literary hero. Foodie parents take note—Art and Soul is offering a “Baby Food for the Soul” class today at 11. Learn how to make meals for your toddler with surprisingly nutritious ingredients such as lavender and cayenne pepper, and take home the recipes.
