Monday, September 14
The Caucus Room is bringing together a five-course meal, wine flights, and an inside look at Ford’s Theatre’s production of Black Pearl Sings. Eat your way through the Southern-themed dinner (peach cobbler and shrimp-and-grits are both on the menu) while the artistic team behind the play gives a talk. Tuesday, September 15
Bob and Fred Luskin, formerly known as the “wine guys” of downtown DC’s Bell Wine & Spirits, are coming out of semi-retirement for an appearance at Borders at 18th and L streets. Those nostalgic for the pair’s famous Saturday winetastings can hear all about the duo’s long history in the business. The free talk begins at 6:30. Call 202-466-4999 for more information.

Wednesday, September 16
Savor crisp autumn weather on the patio of Art and Soul with the restaurant’s weekly barbecue feast, where guests can gather around an outdoor fire pit to chow down on smoked baby-back ribs, brisket, wings, coleslaw, and cornbread. Thursday, September 17
G.H. Mumm teams up with Napoleon Bistro for an all-about-Champagne night on the restaurant’s main floor. From 8 to 10, learn how to pair and serve bubbly, tell the difference between grape varieties, and find out what the heck a Methuselah is. $20 per person; call 202-299-9630 for more information.

Friday, September 18
Eat your way through the European Union at Euro Night at the French Embassy (4101 Reservoir Rd., NW) . More than 20 countries will showcase their culinary traditions, and Swedish hip-hop artist Adam Tensta (who has opened for Rihanna and Jay-Z) will provide the music. Saturday, September 19
The Virginia Wine Festival brings live entertainment, educational seminars, and lots of local wineries together at Bull Run Regional Park this weekend. We’re always up for free tastings, but today’s seminar topics—which include everything from the history of American wine to tips on hosting a home wine-sampling party—make the festival sound especially fun. It runs from 11 to 6 Saturday and Sunday, and general admission is $25 per day. For tickets and a complete list of events, click here.

Sunday, September 20
Crystal City throws a wine festival with a Latin twist at the third annual Vintage Crystal event (220 20th St. S., Arlington). Wines, liquors, and cuisine from Spain and South America will be available for sampling, and flamenco-infused jazz music will play all day. The festival, $20 per person, runs from 2 to 6.
