A Negroni is Todd Kliman’s drink, and he prefers a classic recipe—gin, Campari, and vermouth.

Here’s his recipe for the perfect Negroni:

Ingredients

1 ounce Aviation gin

½ ounce Campari

½ ounce Gran Classico bitters

1 ounce Carpano Antica vermouth

Instructions

Pour all the ingredients into a glass with a few cubes of ice in it.

With a peeler, shave off a thin, narrow slice of orange peel and rub it over the rim of the glass to release its oils. Drop the peel into the drink, then let it sit 5 to 10 minutes so the ice melts a bit.
