Wedding planner Jodi Moraru had a great time answering your questions today. If you missed the conversation, click here to read all about how to budget enough time for hair and makeup, where to hold an outdoor barbecue wedding, what to do if you want a family-and-bridal-party-only rehearsal dinner, and more.
Jodi tried to get through the whole queue, but there are just a few she couldn’t squeeze into the hour. But don't worry. I’ll be taking those surplus questions to another planner or two and publishing the answers—stat.
For the February chat lineup, think romance. I took four of the most romantic (material) things about weddings—the ring, the dress, the cake, and the flowers—and found one expert for each. Next Thursday, February 7, it’ll be Leslie Poyourow of Fancy Cakes by Leslie in Gaithersburg. I’ll introduce you to Leslie on Monday with a little more pizzazz, but for now? Start submitting all your burning (not literally) cake Q’s. Speaking of cake . . . If you didn't have one at your wedding (maybe you had cupcakes, maybe you did a sundae bar, maybe you just skipped the sweet stuff altogether), Bridal Party wants to hear from you. The Reluctant Groomzilla
Last Friday you met Emily, who will be blogging weekly about her adventures in wedding planning. (Living here and doing the ceremony in Nashville—definitely an adventure.) Today meet Josh, who is having his wedding right here in Washington. He's going to give the groom's perspective on it all, and trust me, it's going to be good. Check back every Wednesday for his update on the laughs and landmines of planning a wedding for 200. I am not a groomzilla! I am not a groomzilla! Maybe if I say it often enough, I can get myself to believe it. Of course, here I am writing a blog for The Washingtonian, so I guess that alone sort of qualifies me as one, right? That and the fact that when our wedding planner found out that the magazine was looking for a groom to blog, I was the first person she thought of! So I guess I am one—or at least, pretty close. Anyway, without further ado, I am proud to present the first installment of “The Reluctant Groomzilla” or, as I’m sure my soon-to-be-legions of fans and loyal readers will call it, TRG.

A wine-and-cheese bridal showcase tonight, a Friday/Saturday trunk show at Hitched, and more.
Wednesday, January 30: Wine-and-Cheese Bridal Showcase Okay, so Wednesday isn’t technically the weekend. But I didn’t want you to miss this mini bridal expo, considering it’s at Dave & Buster’s (11301 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda; 301-230-5151) and there will be complimentary wine, cheese, and cocktails for the first 45 minutes. Look at displays from the Pros, a company of photographers, videographers, and disc jockeys, watch a short presentation, hang out to hear the Pros’ DJs perform, and then book any services that interest you. Free tickets available here or at the door; 6:45 PM.
Friday, February 1: Premiere of Over Her Dead Body Watch Eva Longoria Parker play Bridezilla for maybe the first five minutes of this movie before the plot turns comedic ghost story. Modern Trousseau Trunk Show Designer Callie Tein comes to Hitched (1523 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-333-6162) to show her 2008 collection and answer questions at this show, which extends through Saturday. Call to schedule an appointment or e-mail appointments@hitchedsalon.com.

What would your cocktail say about you?
Two years ago, then-DC resident Natalie Bovis-Nelsen quit her job in restaurant PR to launch a career as a writer. Cocktails? Not part of the plan. But after reading, traveling, and learning more about wines and spirits, she was hooked. Dubbing herself the Liquid Muse, she launched an all-about-cocktails Web site in April 2006.
Bovis-Nelsen blogs, offers a cocktail of the week, and runs a service called the Liquid Muse Signature Cocktails. The quick version: You decide you want a drink designed just for your wedding, shower, or bachelor(ette) party, she creates it, and you serve it to guests along with keepsake coasters printed with the recipe. Pretty fancy. I had a phone date with Bovis-Nelsen—who now lives in LA—to hear all about her work with brides, grooms, and, um, Lindsay Lohan:
