How they met: As graduate students at the London School of Economics. First date: The Hay-Adams Hotel. Favorite restaurant: Bourbon Steak in the District. Where they got engaged: At home. Wedding cocktail: Mimosa. Wedding flowers: Lilies, hydrangeas, calla lilies, roses, orchids, and gardenias. Favorite wedding detail: The Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop. Wedding cake: Chocolate and carrot cake. Biggest surprise of the wedding: Walking through falling rose petals on the way from the ceremony to the cocktail hour. First dance song: "Lucky" by Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz. Wedding theme: A celebration of our two cultures: English and Indian/German.
