Where & When Bridal: What to Do This Weekend

Patrick Dempsey! Real Simple! Get excited for this weekend’s wedding fun.

Friday, May 2: Made of Honor Opens
Patrick Dempsey is super-cute, but that’s not why we’ll be hitting theaters this weekend to see Made of Honor. We’ve been obsessed with the idea of mixed-gender wedding parties since maybe two years ago, when it was way cutting edge and a friend told us her friend’s sister’s cousin had done it, and we’re excited to see how Dempsey pulls off being the bride’s firsthand man. If you see it, too, report back on what you think.

Saturday, May 3: Monique Lhuillier Sample Sale
Friends and readers give Hannelore’s (106 N. Lee St., Alexandria; 703-549-0387) mixed reviews, but hey—a sale is a sale. Head to the Old Town boutique for up to half off select dresses by Los Angeles designer Monique Lhuillier.

Sunday, May 4: Real Simple Weddings Event
Let’s just get it out there: We love Real Simple, so much so that we would probably agree to have its organization-savant babies if it asked. We also like Crate & Barrel (we got a great set of magnetic measuring spoons there once). Put the two together and you have an awesome Sunday morning of meeting the editors of Real Simple Weddings, the special guide the magazine launched in January. Drop into the Tysons Corner C&B (1800 W. International Drive, McLean; 703-891-0090) to start your registry, pick up Real Simple-designed tip sheets and checklists, and ask the folks behind the wedding issue anything that’s on your mind. Plus, you score a goody bag with a little gift from C&B. Free; 9 to 11 AM.
