Edible wedding favors have been nearly de rigueur for a while now, but we’re always impressed when they’re locally-made, too. So when we got a tip about the wonderful wedding favors from Fleurir Hand Grown Chocolates in Georgetown, we had to learn more.

Husband and wife chocolatier team Robert Ludlow and Ashley Hubbard actually got married in August of last year, so they know all about wedding favors. They offered their guests a box of two of their delicious ganache-filled chocolates that have a little local flair—the Lavender Shiraz flavor is made with local Maryland lavender, and the Ginger Rogers features garden-fresh mint, but there are 16 other flavors to chooes from, as well.

Another fun idea, for an out-of-town welcome basket perhaps? Chocolate-covered honeycomb made from local Virginia tupelo honey. Or, if you’re marrying in DC, but are actually from a different part of the country, give out Fleurir’s regionally-inspired chocolate bars—a chai tea bar for the Northwest, for example.
