there’s Twitter, a cooling station of sorts. Its role as a public
sounding board has been put to good use since Friday’s storm
tore through the area, causing massive power outages. Most of
the ire—and there’s a lot of ire—is aimed at Pepco, the power
company that handles a large part of the Washington area. Pepco
itself has been tweeting practically by the minute, offering
encouragement, explanation, excuses, and apologies. For example,
