Missed Connections: Transportation Edition

Lovers meet in hotels, on US Airways flights, in car accidents, and on the Orange Line

Craigslist Missed Connections posters were all about the plains, trains, and automobiles this week. Besides the usual divorce warning with a wink at the Carlyle Grand, most people discovered soulmates and desirable dates as they traversed the town. L’Enfant Plaza and 295 North both earned their place in the sun, but the real prize goes to the connection formed during a 61-minute plane ride from Charlotte to Richmond.

You were with your family (husband, mother or mother-in-law), etc. I was with my family. All of us were waiting for tables.

Worst. Pickup line. Ever.

I met you on the fight from Charlotte to Richmond on Thurs. Please answer these questions to verify:
What is my occupation
How many children do I have
What is your occupation

Spam bots always get stumped on that third verification question.

We made serious eye contact this morning. I believe you were involved in accident. Would love to take you out sometime?

Missed Connections need to stay off the highway—eyes belong on the road!

We were squished sardines yesterday on the orange line!–m4w (But you looked hot regardless)

We got on at Farruget West (barely) heading towards Vienna, and the train was packed the entire time. Despite stupid people saying “scoot over”, “coming through”, “holy gee willackers people, move in, there are yada yada yada.” you were cool the entire time. We never spoke but I want to ride the train with you again! :)

Holy gee willackers, Mr. Smith has returned to Washington … and he rides the Metro.

you were at l’enfant plaza

Thank god L’Enfant Plaza is such a low-traffic Metro station, or this might be the most useless Missed Connections post ever.
