The open floor plan makes it feel spacious and the kitchen has lots of counter and cabinet space as well as a breakfast bar with space for stools. The bedroom has a large window and a walk-in closet. Outside, the unit has a garden and patio with room for a grill, table, and chairs. The rent includes parking, pool access, and trash service.

Searching for a rental? Every Thursday, Home Hunt scours listings for apartments and homes for rent and runs photos of intriguing prospects. This week: A two-bedroom with a loft in Alexandria.

The realtor describes this  Alexandria condo as “California contemporary.” The carpeted unit has a small balcony with a view of a shared grassy courtyard. Thanks to the loft space—accessible by a spiral staircase—the living room has a two-story ceiling, which gives it an airy, spacious feel. The kitchen, which has a large side-by-side refrigerator, is separated from the living room by a half-wall. The unit also features a fireplace, skylight, and washer and dryer. A pool, tennis courts, garage parking, and free shuttle service to the Metro are available.
