Most Expensive Homes on the Market: A $2.495 Million Home in Capitol Hill
Designer Darryl Carter staged this high-end stunner.
Development firm Ditto Residential (you might remember them from this retail-turned-residential home and these Edmonds School condos) renovated this home on Seventh Street near Eastern Market—a project done in collaboration with award-winning interior designer Darryl Carter, who staged the entire first floor with neutral-luxe furnishings from his Shaw boutique.
The four-story place is spread over more than 4,850 square feet, features five bedrooms and seven baths, and is fully loaded with high-style detailing. Some of the (many) highlights? Downstairs, there are black soapstone counters, millwork cabinetry, and top-level appliances in the kitchen, two antique French chandeliers dating to the ’20s and ’30s, and a restored, updated version of the living area’s original wood-burning fireplace and mantel. On the second floor, there are two guest bedrooms and en-suite baths with marble floors; a laundry closet; and the rear master suite, which features dual French doors leading to Juliet balcony, a walk-in closet, and a gorgeous master bath with a custom vanity, walk-in marble shower, and marble counters. Then there’s the top floor, which has a fourth bedroom and bathroom set, plus an entertaining space that includes a wet bar; the basement, featuring a full laundry room done up with marble workspace and hexagonal tile flooring, a powder room, a family room, and a fifth guest bedroom with another full bathroom; and finally, the terraced backyard, outfitted with bluestone pavers, a cedar fence, and a parking pad set behind the sliding security gate.
The home is listed at $2.495 million. Read on to see some photos of this property, then head to the project’s website for the complete details.
