“It was like $50. I have a Target right across from my house, so I go as soon as the designer collections come out so I can get the good stuff. This was the last one there.”

“They’re not the best fit, but I have my Zara flats right here in my bag.”

How would you describe your style?
“Feminine, definitely. I’m very girly girl, and I like for my shoes and bag to match. I love dresses. I’m big into high-waisted skirts with belts. I love getting dressed in the morning—I need like two hours!”

Any staples?
“Sheath dresses. I love a tailored look, and it’s easy to change the look with jackets and accessories.”

Tuesday, November 18: The Corcoran Gallery of Art is hosting a lecture by David Yurman, an internationally recognized designer of swoon-worthy luxury jewelry, beginning at 7 PM. Who: Maria Fyodorova, a local designer originally from Russia. She has a degree in international environmental affairs and an MBA in environmental policy and management. What’s in a name: Maria says the name Barefoot Czarina is a reflection of her heritage and personality. I have this idea of a queen who’s fancy and covered with jewels but is also kind of a free spirit.”
