What are you most proud of accomplishing in 2011?
I ran my second half marathon and shaved 5 minutes and 32 seconds off my time. I also hit my goal weight of 162.2 pounds, and after achieving lifetime status at Weight Watchers, I started training to become a leader for the program.
On Beth’s calendar for 2012:
Participate in a triathlon, maintain my weight, focus on more strength training, get more sleep, and run another half marathon.
Beth’s health tips:
• Set yourself up for success by setting small, attainable goals. It seems less daunting, and the success at hitting the smaller goals will encourage you to keep at it!
• Record non-scale victories in a journal, like avoiding the cookies at your office, or so-and-so telling you that it looks like you’ve lost weight. When you’re feeling discouraged, look back at the journal for motivation to refocus.

What are you most proud of accomplishing in 2011?
I started commuting by bicycle. I was always a cyclist, but this year, I realized I loved being out in the open. I still love the motorcycle, but this way I get fresh air and exercise.
On Vince’s calendar for 2012:
Build more muscle. My trainer has helped me to get stronger and more agile, but I want more. I’m not wanting to look like a bodybuilder, but I want more definition, endurance, and strength.
Vince’s health tips:
The best way to maintain your resolution is to focus on the streak. Something like “I’m going to eat healthy for 30 straight days” or “I’m going to bike ten miles a day for three weeks.” When you complete a streak, then you challenge yourself to do another. Next thing you know, you’ve created a habit.

What are you most proud of accomplishing in 2011?
In 2011 I took control of my life by deciding to put my health first. That decision led to a healthier body and mind and a loss of 25 pounds.
On Lisa’s calendar for 2012:
Maintain the healthy weight I’ve achieved this past year, and see if I can retrieve my twentysomething abs.
Lisa’s health tips:
Start by choosing yourself. Stop eating sugar and processed foods! Keep setting new goals, and celebrate the small achievements.

What are you most proud of accomplishing in 2011?
Probably the biggest thing I am proud of is running all 18 Rock ’n’ Roll races (15 half marathons and three marathons). And I was the only female to do so! I also ran two 50-mile ultramarathons and three other marathons.
On Sarah’s calendar for 2012:
To kick off 2012, I will run back-to-back marathons on January 7 and 8 in Mississippi and Alabama. And then on February 4 I will attempt to run my second 100-mile ultramarathon in Texas.
Sarah’s health tips:
• Commit to moving your body at least 60 minutes every day.
• Sweat out your anger (gripe less, sweat more!)
• Set a small, healthy goal each day.
