Valentine’s Day-Themed Fitness Classes and Specials in Washington

Including where you can do a “50 Shades of Grey”-themed workout to get your heart racing.

Valentine’s Day is mostly associated with romantic dinners over candlelight, but there are also plenty of opportunities for fitness-loving couples, too. Tons of gyms and studios are hosting Valentine’s Day classes for couples to get their sweat on and for singles who are in the market for a fellow workout buff. Check out our roundup below.

“Tough Love” à la 50 Shades of Grey Class at Washington Sports Club
WSC always has a new themed class up its sleeve. For the entire month of February, the North Bethesda location will host a free class called “Tough Love: Bars, Bands & Blindfolds Bootcamp,” complete with partner exercises, blindfolded plyometrics, and high-intensity interval training to get your heart pumping.

Cupid Classes at Barre3
From February 11 through 15, Barre3 in Georgetown will host Cupid Classes, with drinks and treats offered after class. There’s also an online couples workout for those looking for more privacy. 

Partner Yoga at Tranquil Space
This vinyasa workshop at the Dupont Circle location is for all levels and focuses on partner work, conscious breathing, and “connecting the heart chakras.” $50 for couples who register online

Singles Yoga and Date Night at Past Tense Studio
If you’re in the mood to meet your yogi soulmate, head to Past Tense Studio for a singles yoga class with dating and relationship coach Jeffrey Platts. If you can’t make it out on Valentine’s Day, head to the Saturday date-night class for an all-levels vinyasa class and massage session.

$10 Guest Special at Lil Omm
Bring a date or a friend to this special Valentine’s Day class at 8 PM at Lil Omm for only $10. The vinyasa class will be held in candlelight, featuring heart openers, meditation, and vinyasa yoga. Enjoy treats post-class.

Scavenger Hunt with Potomac River Running
Potomac River Running Rockville will host a couples scavenger hunt with prizes scattered throughout the Rockville Town Center on Tuesday, February 12, at 6:30 PM. As a bonus, you’ll be able to try on a pair of Mizuno running shoes while scavenging. RSVP through the store’s website

Partner Yoga at Circle Yoga
Instructors and partners Cinema and Drew will lead this special partner yoga workshop at Circle Yoga on Friday, February 15 from 7 to 9 PM. Register by February 8 for $30 per person. 

(Hot Chocolate) Couples Massage at Vida Fitness/Aura Spa
On Friday, February 15, Aura Spa at Metropole will host a special Valentine’s Day couples massage workshop at 7:30 PM. Champagne and a swag bag for two comes with the $110 fee. Couples can also indulge in a Swedish massage infused with warm chocolate massage oil from February 11 to 17 for $105.

Partner Yoga at Meridian Yoga DC
On Sunday, February 14, join Meridian Yoga for a two-hour partner yoga workshop at 2 PM. Instructor Ariele Foster promises fun, lots of laughing, and to make every newbie feel welcome. $30 per person or $60 for couples

Couples Thai Massage at Extend Yoga
On Saturday, February 9, Extend Yoga in Bethesda will host a workshop on Thai yoga massage. Couples will learn acupressure and yoga stretches to release stress and tension in each other’s bodies. $60 per couple

Partner Yoga at Yoga District
The Bloomingdale studio will host a two-hour partner yoga workshop on Sunday, February 10, that’s playful, supportive, and restorative. Bring a friend or loved one, or come solo and meet a fellow yogi. $20 per person
