The holidays can be a stressful time. Between airport delays, crushing mall crowds, and untangling all those damn Christmas lights, the winter vacation can leave you needing, well, a vacation. Help that stressed-out parent or on-the-go friend of yours unwind by giving him or her a day at the spa. We rounded up local companies’ holiday discounts on manis and pedis, massages, facials, and more that will help your loved ones start the new year off fresh.
The Boutique Spa at the Ritz-Carlton
Try the Earth Elements Massage at a discounted rate of $140, just for Washingtonian readers. This massage includes a combination of hot stones, deep tissue therapy, and restorative spinal infusion. Normally priced at $175.

The spa’s 12 Days of Christmas package is perfect for that someone in your life who likes to relax—a lot. For $914, give the gift of a massage for every month of 2012. The festive package includes five serenity massages, five aroma massages, and two hot stone massages. It’s a discount of $218 total.
