Washingtonians now have another option for kayaking besides the Potomac River with the opening of Ball Park Boathouse, the newest kayak rental shop to open along the Anacostia River.
Run by Boston Outdoor Recreation, the same folks who this year took over Key Bridge Boathouse in Georgetown, Ball Park is the first kayak rental business on the Anacostia. It had its soft opening this Saturday and for the time being will remain open on weekends only from 11 to 8.
Rental prices at Ball Park, located behind Nationals Stadium at Diamond Teague Park, are the same as at Key Bridge Boathouse, with single kayaks going for $15 an hour and double kayaks at $20 an hour. All-day rentals are also available for four hours of charge.
