A couple in Arlington has designed a running T-shirt to raise money for those affected by the September shooting at Navy Yard that left 12 dead and eight wounded.

Jennifer K., a contractor, was working on the third floor of building 197 when the shootings occurred on September 16. She was able to escape from a nearby emergency exit. Her mother, who also works at Navy Yard, was on vacation.

Jennifer’s husband, Chris, is running his first marathon in Athens, Greece, on November 10 and decided to raise funds to help victims of the Navy Yard shooting. The couple designed dry-wicking T-shirts that read “Run for the Navy Yard” and “26.2-for-20” on the front and “#NavyYardStrong” on the back.

Each shirt is $25, and all proceeds will go to the Navy Yard Relief Fund. The couple hopes to sell 100 T-shirts this week. Visit their fundraising website for more information and to purchase a shirt.
