Works by past winners of the award that honors living artists under age 50, including the 2004 winner, New York’s Kara Walker, maker of large-scale, politically charged silhouettes. Other winners include Andrea Zittel, designer of living spaces that owe much to the ideas and lines of modernist masters, and Jessica Stockholder, who transforms such mundane items as plastic lids, shoelaces, and fake fur into sculpture.
