Kelly Hogan, who has sung backup for musicians from Neko Case to Jakob Dylan, stepped into the spotlight this year with I Like to Keep Myself in Pain. Twelve of the album’s 13 songs were written for Hogan by artists ranging from Stephin Merritt to Robyn Hitchcock.
