Event Details: Creating for the Future: Cataloging and Estate Planning for the Artist Date: January 19, 2013, 2:00pm - 4:00pm Location: Brentwood Art Exchange, 3901 Rhode Island Avenue, First Floor, Brentwood, MD 20722. Join the Brentwood Arts Exchange, the WPA, and the Gateway Community Development Corporation, along with lecturers John Paradiso of the Gateway Arts Center and Joan Jeffri of the Research Center for Arts and Culture in a participatory lecture on how and why to catalog your work and where to begin when planning an artist's estate. Learn how standard practices in cataloging and estate planning can supplement the well-being and career of the artist at any age and career level, and see how both can strengthen the vibrancy of the artist's legacy. Attendees will leave with an understanding of the different techniques and software used for inventorying work to aid in sales and tax processes. Paradiso and Jeffri bring their first-hand experiences to the discussion, presenting the relevant practices and specialized knowledge that will leave attendees and artists of all ages with clear direction on how to implement strategies in planning and creating for the future.
