Event Details: Surrounded by the "Preach! New Works by Jeffrey Kent" exhibition, there will be a Community Chat at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum. Loosely patterned after Baltimore’s popular Stoop Storytelling series, the Community Chat will bring together a diverse panel of individuals to tell their personal stories, talking about why they believe what they do about particular issues. These shared histories will then serve as the jumping-off point for a moderated open discussion amongst panelists and attendees alike, which will include church groups, college students, and LGBT organizations. Featured speakers: Dominick Doleman Rev. David Gaines Rev. Heber Brown Rev. Larry Brumfield Jeffrey Kent's body of work is a critique on the arguments circulating within the Black Christian community on marriage equality for same sex couples. Founder of alternative art studio and gallery, Sub-Basement Artist Studios, Kent was awarded "Best Visual Artist" in the Baltimore City Paper in 2008. For more of Kent's artwork, visit his website at www.jeffreykentart.com This event is proudly brought to you by MICA's Exhibition Development Seminar, with support from Friends of EDS
