Washington Hebrew Congregation’s Rabbi Joseph Weinberg Early Childhood Center at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center is pleased to announce its 24th annual spring Fun Fair and Silent Auction.  The festivities will take place on Sunday, May 5th from 12:00 - 3:00 pm, rain or shine at 11810 Falls Road in Potomac, MD, which is located at the corner of Tuckerman Lane.

Carnival rides, interactive games, a live DJ, arts & crafts, food, and a gourmet bake sale will highlight the day’s events. Sponsored by the Rabbi Joseph Weinberg Early Childhood Center Parents Committee, this event is the preschool’s largest fundraiser of the year, with all proceeds going toward academic scholarships, teacher education, classroom improvements and new equipment.

Admission to the Fun Fair is free and open to the public.  Individual tickets are required for rides, games and food and can be purchased on site.  For more information please call the school at 301 279-7505 or visit:

This year’s Silent Auction will include a host of exciting hotels, restaurants, game tickets, attractions, and signed sports memorabilia to bid on, including:

  • An exclusive, private tour of the U.S. Capitol, including the rotunda, statutory hall, and the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives
  • Four VIP seats in the studio audience of ABC TV's "Live With Kelly & Michael" in New York City
  • A once-in-lifetime opportunity with the Washington Redskins.  Have your child assist the special teams unit by running onto the field to retrieve the tee after kickoff at the first 2013 preseason home game at FedEx Field. Your child's picture will also be featured on the FedEx Field HD video boards.
  • A Washington Nationals ‘Base Hit Package’ which includes: four Baseline Box level seats, four on-field passes to watch batting practice and parking for one car in a parking garage adjacent to Nationals Park

Serving the greater Potomac community since 1979, the Washington Hebrew Congregation’s Rabbi Joseph Weinberg Early Childhood Center at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center provides preschool and primary school education in a warm, positive environment where children can discover themselves and the world around them. Through “hands-on” activities, the school strives to stimulate a child's natural creative interests and to help build a positive self-image in a friendly group atmosphere.
