Lecture at St. John’s on the Philosophy of David Hume

St. John’s College tutor Jeffrey Smith will give a lecture titled “Sympathy’s Dimensions: Reflections on the Moral Philosophy of David Hume” at St. John’s College. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium on Friday, April 5 at 8 p.m.
Smith received his bachelor of arts from Emory University and his doctorate from the University of Chicago, where was on the Committee on Social Thought. He was a visiting assistant professor of political science at Colgate University and assistant professor of philosophy at Carthage College before he joined the St. John’s faculty in 2001.
