“The Tsars and the East: Gifts From Turkey and Iran in the Moscow Kremlin” opens May 9. The Russian tsars lived well, and diplomats who came to visit them—particularly from nations that lie between East and West, such as Turkey and Iran—knew how to please them. Sixty pieces dating from the late 16th and 17th centuries—arms, armor, and ceremonial vessels—are in this exhibit, which can be seen only in Washington. Closes September 13.
