An American Celebration at Mount Vernon is a Fourth of July event featuring battle reenactments, a wreath-laying ceremony honoring George Washington, and performances by the National Concert Band of America. There’s even birthday cake. The event, 8 am to 5 pm, is included in the admission to Mount Vernon ($15; ages 6 to 11 $7, ages 5 and under free).
