The JCC of Greater Washington celebrates 40 years of literary lust with bestselling authors, stimulating lectures, and a bookstore brimming with Jewish must-reads. The ten-day literary festival kicks off on Thursday, November 5 and will feature recently published works from a diverse range of authors. Whether you’re perusing the bookstore for your next favorite read or hanging on every word of your favorite author, booklovers will rejoice at the JCC 40th Annual Book Festival. The 40th Annual Book Festival stellar line-up of over 25 literary programs includes Grammy award- winning singer, songwriter and author Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary), Rabbi Harold Kushner, journalist Jeffrey Zaslow, renowned linguist Deborah Tannen, novelist Dara Horn, super agent David Falk, and former U.S. Food and Drug Administration chairman, Dr. David Kessler. Other exciting authors featured at this year’s festival include New York Times best-selling author Neal Bascomb; world-renowned philanthropist Charles Bronfman; Washington Institute for Near East Policy expert David Makovsky; award-winning Hollywood dog trainer Joel Silverman; and Fashion Institute of Technology Professor Helene Verin. At the Book Festival bookstore, patrons can choose from one of the finest collections of books and music of Jewish content, personally selected by a dedicated committee of volunteers who will be on site to offer their expertise.
