Japanese botanical artist Yoshitsugu Koyanagi will mount his first exhibition outside of Japan at the National Arboretum.

Mr. Koyanagi is highly influenced by 16th century German artist Albrecht Durer.  Durer’s philosophy that “Art is found in nature” inspired Mr. Koyanagi to find art in the simplest of his surroundings.

You can meet Mr. Koyanagi at the opening reception of his exhibition at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 4th, 2007. The exhibition will continue through May 31, 2007 and will be open daily from 9a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
