When it comes to no-frills fare, few DC spots can compete with this Adams Morgan haunt. Grab a booth and dig into the Diner Royale: eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, French toast or a pancake, and home fries or grits. It’s a day’s worth of food for $12.59. Lighter appetites can opt for a veggie omelet crammed with broccoli, mushroom, spinach, and enough Gruyère to counter all the healthy stuff, or a Greek version with tomato, spinach, and feta. From the bar, we’re partial to the Creole Champagne Cocktail with spicy Peychaud’s bitters. Daily 6 am to midnight.
