Winged guitars soar over an expansive upstairs dance floor that’s seemingly always at capacity (and yes, the bathrooms are past the crowd, on the opposite side of the entrance—good luck with that). Downstairs, bands play a smaller space, but don’t expect an intimate acoustic set: Acts trend toward punk, hardcore, and electronica. A newly installed roof deck handles overflow—and might just give you the chance to sit down after all that dancing. Insider tip: Live shows downstairs are ticketed and usually top out at $20, but the upstairs bar and roof deck don’t charge a cover—something co-owner Steve Lambert says will never change. Open daily.
