Tucked away from Restaurant Eve’s dining rooms, it has an appeal all its own, with cushioned barstools and big leather chairs, a fireplace, one of the best lunch deals around ($13.50 for any two items on the bar menu), and smart, friendly bartenders. Then there are the drinks, overseen by Todd Thrasher, the cocktail guru who made his name using house-made mixers, fresh juices, and boutique liquors. He creates hits such as a black-currant fizz and Eve’s Temptation, an apple cocktail that tastes like a liquid green apple.
