Following medical school at Hahnemann University and completing an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at The Ohio State University, Dr. Neufeld completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgery under the guidance of Lew Schon, MD and Mark Myerson, MD in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Neufeld joined the prestigious Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Arlington, Virginia, and several years later he left to start The Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center, the first comprehensive foot and ankle center in the Washington, DC area, which employs foot and ankle physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers and non-operative podiatrists.

Due to his love and affinity for teaching and continuing education, Dr. Neufeld founded and serves as the director of The Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center 1-year Fellowship, which participates in the national American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) match.  He was granted appointment as a Clinical Instructor at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.  He is active in both clinical and biomechanical research, producing poster presentations, book chapters and Foot & Ankle journal publications.  Recent research and publication topics include total ankle replacements, achilles tendinitis, and novel treatments for avascular necrosis of the talus and hallux valgus deformities.  Current projects include IRB approved studies in ankle instability, extremity fracture care and multicenter studies in a bone graft substitute, and articular cartilage lesions in the ankle.
