Marketing/Special Events/Editorial InternshipCollege students and recent graduates: we are looking for bright, enthusiastic candidates with strong organizational skills who will work with the Director of Marketing and Special Events and our Bridal Editor. Duties will include promoting special events, assisting in the marketing of the magazine, researching the local bridal vendor market, fact checking and some writing. This is a hands-on opportunity to participate in the planning and execution of events involving corporate sponsors, charity partners, and sales and marketing; it also is a chance to work on the magazine's special coverage of the bridal industry in the DC metropolitan area. Editors, writers, and heads of advertising, promotion, production, circulation, art, editorial and photography meet with all interns once or twice a week to discuss their roles at the magazine and careers within their fields. Washingtonian events attract A-list guest from politics, media, government and professional Washington. They offer an unprecedented opportunity for someone starting out to see how first-class events come together to enhance the image of the magazine and contribute to its bottom line. The position is 40 hours a week for four months in the fall, five months in the spring, and three months in the summer. The schedule is negotiable and the pay is $7 per hour.
