Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture

The Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery are located in a National Historic Landmark building at the heart of Washington's vibrant new downtown, a few blocks from the National Mall. Both museums open on July 1. Collectively, the two museums and their activities are known as the Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture. The National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum tell America's stories through art, history and biography.
