To have your company or nonprofit considered for the next Great Places to Work article, which will be published in the fall of 2011, please send an email to sdalphonse@washingtonian.com with the subject line "great place to work." Tell us which organization you're nominating and what makes it a great place to work.

The Great Places to Work contest is open to any company or nonprofit. In order for a workplace to be considered, a representative of the company has to fill out a Great Places to Work application that asks about benefits and policies. (Later, a separate survey must be filled out by employees.) The 2011 application will be available in February of 2011. There is no application fee.

Here, as an idea of The Washingtonian process and criteria, are the 2009 Great Places to Work employer (click here; PDF) and employee (click here; PDF) surveys. Please do not fill these out—the applications will be revised slightly for 2011.
