Columba Baroque, a group of musicians at St. Columba’s Church in Northwest DC who perform chamber music from the Baroque period, will open the St. Columba Concert Series on Friday, September 28, at 8 pm.

The program will include J.S. Bach’s Suite in B minor with Midge Carlton, flute; Ann Colgrove Smith, harpsichord; Peter Clamp and Lori Wagoner, violin; Michael Hansen, viola; Sharon Lockett, cello; and Ross Capon, bass.

Harpsichordist Lois Narvey will join Ms. Smith in J.C. Bach’s harpsichord Sonata in A for four hands.

Soprano Marilynn Flood will present two Handel arias, “Meine Seele” and “Flammende Rose.”

The program will include two other works for flute featuring Ms. Carlton: Vivaldi’s Concerto in G minor and Telemann’s Trio Sonata for flute in F Major.

General admission is $25, $20 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door. The box office opens at 7:15 pm.

St. Columba’s Church is located in the District at 4201 Albemarle St., NW, one block west of the Tenleytown-AU Metro stop on the Red line. Street parking is available near the church.
